The universal joints on both ends are joined to yokes. The yoke style illustrated in Figure 9 and 10 are round bearing yokes. A yoke is a device that unites, couples, or connects. As it relates to driveshafts, a yoke is the basic torque input and output component. The yokes illustrated in Figures 9 and 10 are “tube or weld yokes”.
