Proper identification relies on bacterial growth characteristics, appropriate biochemical tests, and corroboration by serological techniques. Pathogens of Regional Importance (PRIs) include: Citrobacter freundii, Edwardsiella tarda, Flavobacterium columnare and Flavobacterium psychrophilum.
