whereby steel is run through a progressive series of tanks. Chemicals in the tanks remove oxidation and impurities from the surface of the product. Hydrochloric acid is a common chemical compound used in pickling. Finished steel, typical of the grades used in G.L. Huyett’s manufacturing, are cold rolled (or cold drawn) after being pickled.
