Fundations stands out for its thorough and multisensory structured literacy Level K is a yearlong Program : 30 minutes/day 5 Units 32 weeks of instructionapproach to teaching foundational reading and spelling skills. It is a supplement to core language arts instruction, systematically addressing: Print Concepts Phonological & Phonemic Awareness Phonics & Word Study High Frequency Words Accuracy, Automaticity, & Fluency Spelling HandwritingAdditionally, it significantly reinforces other English language arts standards using an integrated approach, particularly Vocabulary ComprehensionFundations is delivered to all students in general education classrooms.

Fundations teaches accuracy of decoding, spelling and handwriting in a carefully integrated and scaffolded sequence that is taught to a mastery level. Further practice in the core literacy program will ensure students apply decoding with connected text and apply transcription of skills (handwriting and spelling) in their writing.
