However, other parents may prefer to have some suggestions to start these discussions. Before you begin, determine who would be the best person to have the conversation with your youth. A consideration might be identifying a person that is the same sex as your youth. Your son or daughter may find it easier to have this conversation with a sibling, grandparent, aunt, or other trusted adult.
