For the Army, in an era of force structure reductions and resource shortfalls, these challenges are addressed through the development of strategies that will guide our Army for next several decades.

The shifts in the geopolitical landscape, including competition for power and resources, border disputes, ethnic nationalism, VEO ideologies and economic crises will affect the character of armed conflict. Although the ability to project power onto land from air, maritime, space, and
