Underground Transmission -Program 36 - EPRI
P. 1 Underground Transmission - Program 36 Program Overview Program Description Underground Transmission systems have evolved over the last decades from a laminar dielectric technology to extruded polymers. While a significant fraction of the installed base of cables (approximately 80% in the United States) are laminar, most new installations utilize extruded dielectric cable technology. This program is structured to support utilities with the operational and maintenance challenges associated with aging laminar dielectric cables as well as design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of new extruded cable systems.
