• An analog preamplifier. • A PDM modulator. • Interface logic. The analog signal from the microphone element is first amplified, and then sampled at a high rate and quantized in the PDM modulator. The modulator combines the operations of quantization and noise shaping; the output is a single bit at the high sampling rate.
