In fact, the million taxpayers due a refund saw their money deposited in their bank accounts in as little as three business days by choosing direct deposit, an increase of more than 5 percent over last year. Additionally, more than 128,000 taxpayers recognized the ease of direct debit to pay their liabilities representing an increase of 16 percent from filing season, despite a late start due to IRS delays, we saw yet another increase in the number of tax returns filed electronically.
