At the time of publishing this guide, practitioners are concerned about their lack of personal protective equipment putting service users at risks, as well as themselves and their families. They are also telling Community Care about difficulties managing work when colleagues are self-isolating or sick. The worries being voiced most loudly are about the impact on vulnerable children and adults. Domestic abuse, child maltreatment and mental health problems could be worsened by the crisis, and meeting the care and support needs of disabled and older people must be managed while adhering to government guidance on social distancing.
