This protocol is to be used for the management of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in adults over the age of 16 This protocol is NOT to be used for the treatment of; • Hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar state • The management of DKA in an intensive care unit Clinical signs and symptoms • Hyperventilation • Dehydration • Abdominal pain +/- vomiting
