THE SEVEN LAST WORDS ON THE CROSS

All sinners can obtain God’s forgiveness: this is the good news of the gospel. Jesus prays to the Father for their salvation with the words, “Father, forgive them.” And the just Father, who cannot leave sin unpunished, forgives them, because Jesus’ blood of the new covenant was shed for many for the forgiveness of sin.
