•Epithelial tissue: New skin that is light pink and shiny. In Stage 2 PUs, epithelial tissue is seen in the center and at the edges of the ulcer. •Granulation tissue: Red tissue with “cobblestone” or bumpy appearance; bleeds easily when injured.
