The town in northern Italy wonthe olympic bid over; Montreal, Colorado Springs, and Lake Placid. Several aspects made these Gamesunique: all of the venues were within walking distance except one, for the first time in history the Gamesrelied heavily on corporate sponsorship (Fiat was the official car ), and this was the first televised WinterOlympics.
