The generaltolerances presented in this paper are based oninternational and US standards for generalmanufactured component tolerances and castcomponent tolerances. These tolerances are establishedusing the basic size of the specific feature referred to bythe dimension and the tolerances are smaller for smalldimensions and larger for large dimensions ( , ) unlike traditional decimal placetolerances where the tolerance is established bythenumber of digits to the right of the decimal place ( , ).
