STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2010 No. 1997 education , ENGLAND The education (Independent School Standards) ( ENGLAND ) Regulations 2010 Made - - - - 4th August 2010 Laid before Parliament 10th August 2010 Coming into force - - 1st September 2010 The Secretary of State for education makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 157(1) and 210(7) of the education Act 2002(a). Citation, commencement and application 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the education (Independent School Standards) ( ENGLAND ) Regulations 2010 and come into force on 1st September 2010 . (2) These Regulations apply only in relation to ENGLAND . Interpretation 2. (1) In these Regulations the 2002 Act means the education Act 2002; boarder means a pupil for whom a school provides accommodation, whether or not the pupil is a pupil at that school; employment business has the meaning given in section 13(3) of the Employment Agencies Act 1973(b); enhanced criminal record certificate means an enhanced criminal record certificate as defined in section 113B of the Police Act 1997 (c) which includes suitability information relating to children as defined in section 113BA(2)(d) of that Act; mai
