Inspection Checklist Residential Plumbing Rough In July 2016 This Inspection Checklist reflects code requirements of the 2015 International Residential Code (IRC), 2015 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC), and the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC). GENERAL INFORMATION: This Checklist is intended for use to prepare for an inspection. This is only a general list and is not intended to address all possible conditions. Additional information can be obtained from your local participating jurisdiction. Page 1 of 6 Please verify the following before calling for a Plumbing Rough -in inspection. Permits and Plans Job address is posted in a visible location. (IRC ) Permit and approved plans are on site and accessible to the inspector.
Vents terminate a minimum 6” above roof line (10” in high snow load areas). (UPC 906.1 & 906.7) Vent clearance to building openings are 3’ above or 10’ horizontal. (UPC 906.2) Air-Admittance Valves Minimum 4” above drain. (Per local jurisdiction and manufacturer’s installation instructions ) Minimum 6” above insulation in attic.
