An observation is a fact learned directly though the senses. Don t just look - use more than your eyes Use all of your senses Fully describe what you sense add details Be sure to observe how things change (before, during, and after an event) There are two types of observations: 1) Qualitative Observations are those that describe what something looks, smells, tastes, sounds, or feels like. Example: The flower is red and smells sweet. 2) Quantitative Observations are those that provide some type of measurement or comparison.
