By:AALeach BILL TO BE ENTITLEDAN ACTrelating to substituted service of citation through a social IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF B, Chapter 17, Civil Practice andRemedies Code, is amended by adding Section to read SERVICE THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIAWEBSITE. (a) If substituted service of citation is authorizedunder the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, the court may prescribe asa method of service under those rules an electronic communicationsent to the defendant through a social media website if the courtfinds that:(1)AAthe defendant maintains a social media page onthat website;(2)AAthe profile on the social media page is the profileof the defendant;(3)AAthe defendant regularly accesses the social mediapage account; and(4)AAthe defendant could reasonably be expected toreceive actu
