Built of native stone near a pretty creek, the house served as a residence for Marsh s family for several years in the larte 1800 s. After being sold by the family the house took on a new life. It sheltered several prominent citizens of Contra Costa County and later survived earthquakes, droughts, floods, and an invasion of 1960s Flower Children. Twenty years ago, the state of California took control of the property and promised to care for the house and the surrounding property.
