For weak-signal operationsuch as EME (moonbounce) at microwavefrequencies, you must be transmitting and lis-tening exactly at the right Frequency ; other-wise the narrow receive filters used will makeyou miss that weak signal. With such a setup,a 10-MHz Frequency reference feeds the fre-quency synthesizer that generates the radio soperating Frequency . An accurate 10-MHzreference is also useful for test equipmentadjustment.
