Introduce cognitive defusion, as a strategy designed to help relax the struggle to correct, avoid, or suppress unwanted feelings and thoughts. Introduce the concept that control is the problem, and that to struggle with trying to control and avoid our own aversive feelings and thoughts, is ultimately self-defeating.
