Addendum to Planning Policy Statement 7 Residential Extensions and Alterations March 2008 Addendum to Planning Policy Statement 7: Residential Extensions and Alterations Planning Policy Statements (PPSs) set out the policies of the Department of the Environment on particular aspects of land-use Planning and apply to the whole of Northern Ireland. Their contents will be taken into account in preparing development plans and are also material to decisions on individual Planning applications and appeals. This Addendum to PPS 7 sets out the Department s Planning Policy for achieving quality in relation to proposals for residential extensions and alterations. It also provides guidance which is intended to provide advice to homeowners and to assist the Department in the determination of proposals. The Addendum embodies the Government s commitment to sustainable development and the Quality Initiative.
