A safe community is important to everyone and takes citizen involvement. We are fortunate to live in ALACHUA County, with lower crime rates and a high quality of life because we do have a strong partnership between law enforcement and our residents. Reports have shown that only a small percentage of the county's population is responsible for the majority of criminal activity. Although some individuals with outstanding warrants are first time offenders, many are not. During 2013, 6,124 warrants were issued of which 4,646 were served. Additionally, of warrants served were for Juvenile Pick-up orders. Felony cases and Juvenile Pick-up Orders accounted for of warrants served by the ACSO's Warrants Bureau during 2013.
