AP1 KinematicsPage 11. A ball is thrown vertically upward from the ground. Which pair of graphs best describes the motion of the ball as a function of time while it is in the air? Neglect air resistance.(A) tyta(B) tyta(C) tvta(D) tvtaAnswer: CThe velocity of the ball starts at a high initial value (assuming the upward direction is positive), then slows down at a constant rate until it reaches it highest point, at which point its velocity reaches an instantaneous value of zero. The ball then accelerates downward, increasing its speed at a constant rate until it returns to the same point in space and same speed it began its journey with.
