AHAP Western Cape, fax 021 650 2352, email 16 August 2007 1 ASSOCIATION OF HERITAGE ASSESSMENT PRACTITIONERS - ACCREDITED MEMBERS: AS AT AUGUST 2007 The distinction between Generalist and Specialist categories relates to different scales of expertise and responsibility within the field of HERITAGE ASSESSMENT . Generalist Member: a HERITAGE assessor who has broad experience and will take overall responsibility for comprehensive assessments. Specialist Member: a HERITAGE assessor who is an expert in and will be responsible for a narrow or specialist part of assessments. Associate Member: people who are active in the field of HERITAGE ASSESSMENT but do not qualify as either of the above; also practitioners or students who are in the process of obtaining the necessary academic qualifications or relevant experience for Specialist or Generalist membership.
