1 Introduction Los Angeles COUNTY is the most populous COUNTY in the nation with over 10 million people residing within its borders. To inform the public of available services, the BOARD of SUPERVISORS ordered the preparation of this Citizens Guide to COUNTY Services. This is an update of earlier editions, and the information included was current at the time of publication. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the material in this booklet, and we hope that it is helpful. Angeles County includes the islands of San Clemente and Santa Catalina. It is bordered on the east by Orange and San Bernardino Counties, on the north by Kern County, on the west by Ventura County, and on the south by the Pacific Ocean. Its mainland coastline is 75 miles long.
