Brief Biographies of Presenters Paula Ammerman Ms. Ammerman is director of the board of Trustees Office at the Pennsylvania State University. She was first elected associate secretary to the board of Trustees in January 1992. Prior to that time, she was an administrative assistant in the board office. She is responsible for the efficient administration of all activities relating to the board s 32 voting and 16 emeriti members. Additionally, she supports the activities of the separate board of directors of Penn State s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. A graduate of the Alaska Business College, Ms. Ammerman received her certificate in business management from Penn State and has taken additional coursework. Irene Birrell Ms. Birrell is the university secretary for the University of Western Ontario.
