GENERAL BUREAU of INDIAN STANDARDS maintained the thrust and dynamism and exhibited an all round progress during the year 2013-14. It recorded an income of around Rs crores during 1 April 2013 31 December 2014. For the twenty sixth consecutive year, BIS met its recurring and non- plan expenditure from its own resources. In order to effectively and systematically meet the national needs and be in tune with the objectives and priorities of the national plans, BIS prepares and follows its own five-year plans, in line with the national five-year plans, which spell out the goals and targets of the organization.
