CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION . This dissertation reports on the results of a cross-sectional survey carried out among primary and secondary school teachers in Mozambique. The purpose of the study was to identify key individual difference variables that impact on teachers' decisions to address HIV/AIDS in the classroom, outside the classroom and in the community at large1. This first CHAPTER of the dissertation presents the problem statement, outlines the purpose of the study, and provides information on the context of the problem.
