DETERMINATION of the proper EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY for each eligible employee is essential because contribution rates and benefit payments vary for participants in different EMPLOYMENT is the employer s responsibility to determine the appropriate EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY classification for its WRS-eligible employees. EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY classifications must be based on an employee s duties as performed in the service of the employer.
