1 Comfort care Guidelines for Providers - Penn Medicine Comfort care Guidelines I. Aim: These Guidelines are intended to promote patient Comfort , to manage pain and common symptoms at the end-of-life, not to hasten death. II. Objectives: 1. To implement a comprehensive, evidence-based, patient-centered approach to symptom assessment & management of the patient at the end-of-life. 2. Background & Rationale: Standard practice Guidelines for end-of-life serve as a foundation for patient and family-centered care for the seriously ill and dying.
