Configuration Management GuidelinesDate: April The guideline describes Configuration Management functions and principles and defines Configuration Management terminology for use with Aerospace and Defense AS&D product line. It is targeted at Small and Medium size companies acting as subcontractors/suppliers either in a Build to Print or a Build to Spec relationship. The intention of these Guidelines is to assist organizations with understanding the concept and process of Configuration Management and is not intended to be a requirement, nor The Aerospace Standards ( IAQG 9100) call for the implementation of Configuration Management and documents control throughout the entire life cycle of product realization.
Configuration management is applied through-out the entire life cycle of the product and allows one to: •know at any moment the technical description of a system and its components, using approved documentation •record and control effectively and continuously evolutions
