A fresh 4R1040NA engine was tested using both diesel and SVO at CORPORATE RESEARCH and ENGINEERING , kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., Pune, and a comparison of the two fuels was done. Based on the initial test, some settings were readjusted and the engine was subsequently tested with these changes. A brief introduction to the need for alternatives fuels and to SVO is followed by the experimental procedure and results.
