This document is intended to serve as a general guideline for Standard Cost Code setup for a small to mid size General Contractor. 2. Its purpose is to provide a standard list to import into Job Cost, for tracking historical costs a reasonable level of detail, 3. useful for cost control and project management. 4. Use CSI Masterformat 2012 for creating new CODES when needed. 5. It should be noted that Masterformat is designed as the standard for Project Specification writing. It has been adopted 6. by General Contractors as a basis for historical job cost reporting as it is industry standard, providing both an 7. organizational scheme and a numeric index for construction work. Substantial departures from literal adoption are 8. required in order to more accurately describe the General Contractor's job requirements. 9. 5 Division 01 is the most arbitrary, with furthest divergence from Masterformat 2012.
