HAYSS helby1 is a 28-year-old, recently divorced woman who was referred for counseling by her physician who could find no medical reason for her frequent digestion problems and stomachaches. At your first meeting, Shelby tells you she is a nursing student and hospital health aide, and she lives with her parents, who babysit her 3-year-old daughter while she is at work or in school. She reports that she has always been a good student and likes her job, but the workload now feels overwhelming, and her supervisor is frequently upset with her for being late and for occasional mistakes she makes when tired.
