Customs Act Unofficial Translation 2 In accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution, the Maldives Customs Bill passed in the 1st sitting of the 21st session of the People s Majlis held on Monday the 25th of April 2011, has become law and has been published in the Government Gazette upon its ratification by the President of the Republic on Wednesday the 11th of May 2011 (8 Jumad-al-Aakhira 1432). 3 Chapter I Preliminery section Introduction and Title 1 (a) This Act sets out the principles and procedures by which Maldives Customs Service is established as a state institution and defines the objectives, powers, responsibilities, privileges of the Service.
