Incidents Death Investigation | House Fire On February 1 at 11:33AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4600 block of Montega Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to assist the Department of Fire & Rescue with a house fire. Fire crews initially responded to the home and discovered the sole occupant of the home, identified as an 83-year-old man, on the dining room floor with life-threatening injuries. The victim was removed from the home and flown to an area hospital where he died as a result of the injuries sustained during the fire on February 6. Based upon the preliminary results of the autopsy, the cause of the victim's death appears to be accidental resulting from the fire. Following the investigation, the Department of Fire and Rescue, Fire Marshal's Office has determined the fire was accidental and electrical in nature.
