0102030405001020304050 CRUCIBLECPM S90V is a unique tool steel made by the CrucibleParticle Metallurgy process. It is a martensitic stainlesssteel with a high volume of vanadium carbides for excep-tionally good wear resistance. S90V offers substantialimprovements in wear resistance over 440C and D2, andother high chromium tool steels, with corrosion resistanceequal to or better than 440C. Its high vanadium contentfavors the formation of hard vanadium carbides instead ofchromium carbides for wear resistance, leaving sufficientchromium in the matrix to provide good corrosion wear and corrosion resistance of S90V make it an excellentcandidate to replace 440C, where increased wear is a primaryconcern.
