Add this to the static pressure created by the hood to get the total static pressure of the system. Example: A four-foot hood with an opening of 48-inch wide by 15 inches high requires 100 FPM face velocity. There are 20 feet of 8-inch diam-eter duct with three (3) 90-degree elbows. Hood static loss as given by the manufacturer is 0.25 inch WG.
