Technical InformationDibasic Esters (DBE)Product DescriptionDibasic Esters (DBEs) are refined dimethyl estersof adipic, glutaric, and succinic acids. Theprimary product is designated DBE. DBE isfurther distilled to produce six DBE fractions forspecialty applications: DBE-2, DBE-3, DBE-4,DBE-5, DBE-6, and DBE-9. DBEs are clear, colorless liquids having a mild, agreeable are readily soluble in alcohols, ketones, ethers, and many hydrocarbons, but are onlyslightly soluble in water and higher (CH2)4 COOCH3CH3 OOC(CH2)3 COOCH3CH3 OOC(CH2)2 COOCH3 ApplicationsSolventsIndustrial coatingsCoil/sheet coatingsWaterborne coatingsMagnet wire coatingsAutomotive coatingsIndustrial cleanersResin cleanupPaint removersFoundry core bindersPrinting inksTextile lubricantsMagnetic memory disc coatingsUrethane reaction solventsPeroxide solventsChemical grouting/soil stabilizationPlasticizersFugitivePermane nt diester and polyestersPolymer IntermediatesPolyester polyols for urethanesWet-strength paper resinsPolyester resinsSpecialty Chemical IntermediatesQuinacridone pigmentsStorage and HandlingDibasic Esters are readily available from INVISTAin large quantities
