To fu nction p rop erly, d isks in an EMC VN X system requ ire that each storage p rocessor ru n m inim u m revisions of the EMC VN X Op erating Environm ent (VN X OE). This d ocu m ent lists the d isk p art nu m bers su p p orted for EMC VN X series storage system s and the m inim u m softw are revisions requ ired for each d isk m od el. CAUTION. Verify that the proper version of VN X OE is running on the storage system before installing any disk drives. Results ranging from non -recognition of the drives to data loss may occur if an improper VN X OE version is installed. Before installing a new d isk in a storage system , u se the EMC Unisp here Manager to d eterm ine the VN X OE revision ru nning on the storage system . In Unisp here Manager, the VN X OE. revision ap p ears on the Softw are tab of the storage System Properties d ialog box for the storage system.
