If any of the slices are too small, someone may complain: That s not fair! One solution: Elect one person to cut the cake into several slices, and then have everyone else pick their slice first. How do you think the elected person will divide the cake? Very likely, they will cut the cake into equal slices, so that the distribution is FAIR. Equal slices seems to be the just distribution of cake. But, what is the most just or fair distribution of goods in SOCIETY?
