COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) describes a group of health care systems, practices and products not presently considered to be part of allopathic medicine.6 CAM includes traditional medicine, as well as modern practices developed outside of indigenous communities.
