DRAFTNAVY TRAINING SYSTEM PLANFOR THEF-14A, F-14B, AND F-14D AIRCRAFTN88-NTSP-A-50-8511B/DAUGUST 1998N88-NTSP-A-50-8511B/DAugust 1998F-14A, F-14B, AND F-14D AIRCRAFTiEXECUTIVE SUMMARYThe F-14A, F-14B, and F-14D Tomcat Aircraft are long range, multi-shot, all-weatherstrike fighter aircraft suitable for carrier or shore-based operations. The F-14 Aircraft mission hasbeen expanded to include delivery of conventional air-to-ground ordnance and precision guidedmunitions. The F-14B is either a remanufactured F-14A or new production aircraft, bothequipped with F110-GE-400 engines, which replaced the TF30-P-414A engines. The F-14D iseither a remanufactured F-14A or new production aircraft, both equipped with F110-GE-400engines, new radar, and new avionics systems. Initial Operational Capability for the F-14 DAircraft was in FY92. An upgrade program has been implemented for the F-14B Aircraft, whichincludes requirements to extend the service life of the airframe and avionics changes to improveoffensive and defensive capabilities.
