Driver License / Identification card Inquiries Page 1 of 48 Last Updated: May 28, 2009 The information contained in this document replaces Chapter 6 of the TLETS/NLETS operating manual. Driver License information is available through TLETS from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS ) Driver License Division (DLD) database and from other states using the NLETS network. DLD is a computerized system owned and maintained by the DPS. Personal information obtained from Driver License records are protected by Statute. The Motor Vehicle Records Disclosure Act (Texas Transportation Code, Section ) states Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, including Chapter 552, Government Code, except as provided by Sections , an agency may not disclose personal information about any person obtained by the agency in connection with a motor vehicle record.
