Some exceptions apply when exchanging a Licence from another jurisdiction. For more information, refer to the web page Driver s Licences for New Residents. Test results are valid for 6 months. Any Licence issuance or upgrade must be completed within six (6) months of starting the process. Test Type Minimum Age Requirements Written Test -Tractor Trailer ( class 1) 18 Valid NB Driver s Licence class 5 or higher Medical Fitness Report Completed within the past 6 months Written Test Bus ( class 2), with or without the School Bus (B) endorsement 18 Valid NB Driver s Licence class 5 or higher Medical Fitness Report Completed within the past 6 months Must be 21 years old to apply for School Bus (Endorsement B) Licence Written Test 3 Axle Truck ( class 3) 18 Valid NB Driver s Licence class 5 or higher Medical Fitness Report Completed within the past 6 months Written Test Taxi, Ambulance, or Small Bus ( class 4) 18 Valid NB Driver s Licence class 5 or higher Medical Fitness Report Co
