This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the Electrical code . 27-3002 Purpose. Since there is danger to life and property inherent in the use of Electrical energy, the Electrical code is enacted to regulate the business of installing, altering or repairing wiring and appliances for Electrical light, heat, power, signaling, communication, alarm or data transmission in the city of New york and the licensing of all persons who engage in such business. 27-3003 Construction. This chapter shall be liberally construed to accomplish its purpose. Words used herein which have acquired a particular meaning in the usage of the Electrical trades shall be construed as understood in the trade.
