It also led to the development of the type P engine, a step which revolutionized the 4-cycle gasoline engine industry and set the course for Briggs & Stratton to become the world s largest manufacturer of air-cooled gasoline & Stratton was now providing power for people in every aspect of life and developed several new models in the 1953 Briggs & Stratton revolutionized the Lawn and Garden Industry by developing the first lightweight aluminum engine.
