DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL AVIAl-ION ADMINISTRATION National Policy Effective Date: 02/02/2010 SUBJ: Aircraft Accident and Incident Notification, Investigation, and Reporting This Order prescribes Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) procedures and responsibilities for Aircraft Accident and Incident notification, investigation, and reporting. It provides direction and guidance to aviation safety inspectors when they are called upon to perform Accident investigation. It also explains the responsibilities of the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board when conducting investigations. The Order is also used as a training guide for teaching Accident investigation courses at the National Aircraft Accident Investigation School, Transportation Safety Institute, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
